Getting better matches and traction with MatchMaker
Getting better matches and traction with MatchMaker
How does MatchMaker work?
We thought it would be a good idea to elaborate on and clearly explain how some of the algorithms work, so you will first understand what they do and secondly, receive more accurate matches.
MatchMaker is based on five (5) major scoring factors: Application quality, Match quality Service, Engagement, and Traction. Simply put, the higher the score, the better the service and matching with higher-scoring companies will be.
-
Detailed, complete, and coherent application. If all the fields are complete, attachments, website, and more. This information is used to create matches between users and rank the matches' quality.
-
Using our algorithm, we scan and analyze the provided data to identify suitable matches between startups, investors and corporates (preference base). Each match is scored based on its suitability.
-
An indication of the level of service a user requires from the system. For instance, a new user will receive immediate service and match referrals, whereas a user with a few double opt-ins and non-responsive matches will receive delayed assistance.
-
A measure of the user's responsiveness to emails and matches he receives. Any response is recorded, regardless of whether it's positive or negative (accepted or rejected). The score will be lowered if there is no response.
-
The number of positive reactions received from other users. The acceptance rate of match suggestions. For example, a startup that has had all its requests accepted ('double opt-in'), will have an excellent Traction Score.
-
Additional considerations should be kept in mind:
Prior to the definition and updating of the scores, there are minimum scores and minimum attempts to create a match.
Currently, we do not plan on revealing users' scores, but we are working on a feature that will allow users to update their profiles and view their statistics.
We are constantly updating and improving our scoring system.
The best recommendation we can give is to be responsive. Data shows that responsive firms have higher chances of finding a match. If your firm does not receive traction, we recommend reviewing your preferences and data again. Another suggestion is to be sensitive to your selection. You do not need to approve everything, but only those that are aligned with your vision and needs.
You are welcome to share any additional feedback, ideas, or feature requests with us. We continuously strive to improve our algorithm and service to assist you in finding promising partners, and startups for investment.
Greetings and best wishes.
Amos and the MatchMaker Team.
